Demand is up. Your team isn't growing. Something has to give.
Special education complaints have increased 79% above the 10-year average. Families are calling. Waitlists are growing. But your budget isn't expanding and neither is your staff.
You need a way to serve more families without burning out your team. You need consistent processes that don't depend on institutional knowledge walking out the door. You need measurable outcomes to show funders and stakeholders.
Highlighter was built for exactly this.
Do more with what you have
Whether your planning for the next IEP meeting, reviewing the most recent evaluation, or writing a high-stakes message to a child's case manager, Highlighter gives you the tools you need.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does onboarding work for organizations?
We start with a discovery call to understand your workflows and goals. Then we configure Highlighter to match your processes, train your team, and provide ongoing support as you roll out. Most organizations are up and running within 2-4 weeks.
Can we customize Highlighter for our workflows?
Yes. We work with each organization to configure Highlighter for your specific needs. This includes custom fields, workflow adjustments, and reporting configurations.
How is data secured and who owns it?
Your data belongs to you and the families you serve. Highlighter uses bank-level encryption and strict access controls. We never share your data with third parties. If you ever leave Highlighter, you can export all your data.
Can our families also use Highlighter?
Yes. You can provide families with their own Highlighter accounts to use between touchpoints with your team. This empowers families to self-advocate while freeing up your staff for higher-touch cases.
Do you work with government agencies?
Absolutely. We currently work with the DC Office of the Student Advocate and other government-funded advocacy programs. We understand procurement processes and can provide the documentation you need.
